Jesper Koll - Uncovering Japan’s New Golden Age
Jesper Koll talking about Japan's golden future. Jesper Koll is one of the very few Japan observers who never bought into the gloom and doom scenario about Japan's social and economic future.
Jesper Koll - Japan's Bright Economic Future
Jesper Koll is no wind bag that turned bullish on Japan with the Nikkei rising to ever-greater heights. Apart from Jesper Koll, in 2010-2012, I stumbled over very few Japan observers (and actually only one more economist) who were overall bullish on Japan's future. It was the time I started venturing into the Japanese market and nobody wanted to hear about the extraordinary opportunities the Japanese stock market was offering.
Eammon Fingleton - The Myth of Japans Lost Decade
Eammonn Fingleton is another independent thinker when it comes to Japan. He was and still is challenging the view of Japan's so called two lost decades.
Ryoji Musha - Japan’s “lost 20 years” was actually a “20-year model conversion”
Ryoji Musha, apart from Jesper Koll the other economist I am aware of being bullish on Japan over a prolonged period of time, argues that "Japan's 20 lost years" was basically a 20 year economic model conversion.
Peter Tasker - John Cleese on Abenomics
Peter Tasker is also a Japan observer (not sure if he is an economist though) who was highly bullish on the Japanese markets when nobody wanted to listen. And in this post he is still arguing that the domestic and foreign public have got a highly negative bias towards the Abenomics although there are many signs that it is working reasonably well.
Peter Tasker - The End of the Japanese Ice Age
Another good article by Peter Tasker about the right direction in corporate Japan is heading.
Peter Tasker - Wrong about Japan
Peter Tasker also has been telling people for quite some time that several myths about investing in Japan exist, and about the opportunities for the true value investor that were laying ahead.
Johannes Visser - Japan a Stockpickers Dram
Johannes Visser from Regarding Capital Management (RECM) was also tackling the Japan scaremongers early and very likely profited handsomely meanwhile. In 2011 he made the case for investing in Japan.
He reiterated his bullish stance in 2013.
Johannes Visser - Japan Still a Stockpickers Dream
Daniel from the blog Bargain Investments is starting to venture into value investing in the Japanese stock market. He did a nice write- up on Japan petroleum exploration (JAPEX). I wish him luck with his investment.
